Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. Former U.S. Vice President and climate change expert Al Gore delivered the keynote speech at Carnegie Mellon University's Commencement ceremony on May 18, 2008.
Gore was the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winner with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, of which Carnegie Mellon Engineering and Public Policy professor Ed Rubin was a member.
