This is Bubo, one of the education great horned owls at The University of Minnesota's Raptor Center. He is imprinted on humans. I'm hooting at him and he is hooting back. You will hear a bark and furthr hooting from another great horned owl in the courtyard (who is also imprinted on humans)

Male owl on the left, female owl on the right. I took this video with a point and shoot digital camera through a spotting scope. They owls were far away and so you can hear them with the tiny microphone on this camera, but you can see them hoot, cough up a pellet, poop and just be great horned owl.
When you don't do what my rabbit Cinnamon wants, she grunts at you. She wanted a treat, I wanted to pet her. When I would pet her instead of giving her a treat, she would grunt in irritation.
